The Rook & Pawn will be having our grand opening and ribbon cutting courtesy of the Athens Downtown Development Authority! Please join us to celebrate!

Gaming on Grand Opening Monday will be completely free, complimentary snacks will be available (as supplies last) along with discounted drink specials. 

In addition to the free games, snacks and drink specials, the Rook & Pawn will be offering special discounted monthly and annual membership rates to students. For a limited time starting Monday students with a valid student ID can purchase memberships at the following deeply discounted rates:

Monthly: $15 (reg. $25)

Annual: $50 (reg. $95)

From the ADDA press release:  The Rook & Pawn is located at 294 W Washington St. The Rook & Pawn is a board game cafe, a place where you can go with family, friends, or even alone to choose from a selection of over 400 tabletop board and card games to play while you eat, drink, and be merry. The Rook & Pawn will serve food, coffee, tea, and spirits to enjoy while you play Candyland, Monopoly, Settlers of Catan, Twilight Imperium, or whatever game you like.
